FAQs
How long is a therapy session?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and are available in person in Reddish, Stockport or online.
What are your fees?
Individual therapy sessions are £50 per 50-minute session.
I also offer a free introductory phone call (30 minutes), giving us an opportunity to talk about what you're looking for and see whether I'm the right therapist for you.
What happens during the free introductory call?
The introductory call is an opportunity for us to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, what you're looking for, and any questions you may have.
There is no obligation to book a session afterwards. The aim is simply to help us decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a chance for us to explore what has brought you to therapy and your hopes and expectations for the therapy process.
There is no pressure to have everything worked out before you begin. Many people aren't entirely sure where to start, and that's okay. Therapy can provide a space to slow down, reflect, and gently explore whatever feels important for you.
What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy means that I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches rather than following a single model. This allows the work to be tailored to your individual needs, experiences and goals.
My approach incorporates elements of Person-Centred Therapy, ACT, CBT, Transactional Analysis (TA) and Mindfulness, helping us find a way of working that feels right for you.
How can therapy help?
Therapy offers a space to slow down, reflect and make sense of your experiences. Together, we can explore difficult thoughts, emotions, relationships, life transitions, loss or recurring patterns with curiosity, compassion and without judgement.
The aim isn't to change who you are, but to help you develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance and understanding.
What if I'm not sure what I need to talk about?
Many people come to therapy feeling confused, stuck or uncertain about what's wrong.
You don't need to have a clear issue or specific goal before you begin. Therapy can help you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, gaining clarity and understanding as we work together. This process often starts simply by talking about what's happening in your life right now.
Will you tell me what to do?
My role is not to give advice, provide quick fixes or tell you how to live your life. Instead, I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and discover what feels right for you.
Do you offer online therapy?
Yes. Sessions are available both online and in person in Stockport.
How often do sessions take place?
Most clients attend weekly sessions, particularly at the beginning of therapy. However, we can discuss what feels most appropriate for your needs and circumstances.
Is therapy confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of therapy and helps create a safe space for you to talk openly.
There are, however, some legal and ethical limits to confidentiality. These will be explained fully before we begin working together and are outlined in the therapy agreement.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults on an individual basis who are facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, loss, workplace stress, life transitions, self-esteem issues and feelings of being stuck or overwhelmed.
How do I get started?
You can get in touch by email to arrange a free introductory phone call. We'll talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions you may have, and decide whether working together feels right for you.
